Help! Macbook Pro SD CARD slot malfunction

Hello,

I recently wanted to use my card slot for a Micro SD on the site of my late 2012 macbook pro retina. Once inserting the card i am given the message "The disk you inserted was not readable by this computer".

I then followed the "Initialize..." button as advised online.

I then proceeded to erase the card to "MS-DOS(FAT)", also advised online.

However no matter which way i attempt to erase it, i am given the same message every time "input/ output error"

I have ran multiple tests such as the D on start up and done a NVRAM reset with no errors found, also i have tried multiple SD cards with the same error.

Please help, anyone!
